Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know your food is 100% organic?

All our fresh produce is certified organic and we are subject to regular checking of our records, storage and processing.

Organic Certification of a product assures the consumer that strict guidelines and goals have been undertaken and achieved.

Certified organic foods are produced by growers who have been carefully inspected annually by one of the national, independent certification bodies.

These are:-
1. The National Assoc. for Sustainable Agriculture, Australia (NASAA)
2. Australian Certified Organic (ACO)
3. The Bio – Dynamic Research Institute (DEMETER)
4. The Organic Herb Growers of Australia (OGA)
5. Tasmanian Organic-Biodynamic Producers (TOP)
6. The Organic Food Chain (OFA)

These bodies are accredited and audited yearly by the Australian Quarantine Inspection Service (AQIS). The Organic Producers Advisory Committee (OPAC) advises AQIS on all matters organic. Organic producers undergo an ongoing process of stringent periodic assessments throughout the entire production and marketing cycle. Products labeled as Certified “Organic” and Certified “In Conversion” must have the appropriate documentation verifying authenticity, so retailers can clearly label the products for the consumer to select with confidence genuine organic produce.

*It is prohibited under the organic standards to use either food irradiation or genetic engineering in the production of organic food and fibre. Organic produce is therefore free of these industrial processes.

NASAA Certification –What does it mean?
More health is certified by NASAA– The National Association for Sustainable Agriculture, Australia. It is one of Australia’s key organic/biodynamic farming industry associations. They maintain a scheme to ensure the authenticity of organic/biodynamic produce at retail level. This means that we are subject to regular checking of our records, storage and processing.

Other objectives of NASAA are:

  • increase public awareness of the industry
  • lobby for govt. support of organic/biodynamic agriculture
  • provide assistance/support to farmers, wholesalers & retailers
  • unification of the organic/biodynamic industry in Australia
